This is a wonderful environment in which to learn. Set in landscaped gardens and grounds at Lower Hummacott within the tranquil north Devon landscape, you will be able to absorb those elements of landscape painting which excite the eye and allow you to make a brave leap of faith into a different way of working with paint. Students on a recent course said "it was like a light bulb coming on" when they had painted as never before!

There will be no more than two students in the class to maintain high teaching input. It doesn't matter if you've never painted before as this technique offers some useful formulars to shortcut you into the painting. You don't need a lot of expensive paint and equipment and I don't mind giving away secrets learnt from years of painful practice!

Set within gardens and grounds which in themselves are inspiring for artists, Lower Hummacott offers beautiful accommodation for our residential painting courses. The two double en suites have tv, tea & coffee etc.,facilities, hair dryers, fresh fruit and flowers plus all those little extras to make your comfort complete and are complemented by guests lounge, private secure car parking and the Studio Gallery.

Painting days will run from 10.00 - 4.00 with a short break for lunch. You can book just one day in which we will get a lot done and hopefully a painting to take away with you, and there will be two and three day courses which will cover a comprehensive range of techniques, materials, painting plein air in this inspiring location, painting from a landscape photographic reference and the preparation of painting surfaces.

Light refreshments will be available during the day but please bring a packed lunch with you.

2010 Tarriffs and Availability:

Non-residential painting course £75 per day.
Available course dates are flexible for 2010 - I can manage most working days and even weekends if needed. Contact me to fix dates that suite you. (Don't forget you can book just one or two days).

Residential painting course £142  per day.
This price includes a one person one day oil painting class plus a double en suite B&B for one night. Additional nights B&B are £68 and additional days painting classes are £75.   Dinner, available on Sundays and Mondays is £27. Contact me to arrange your booking or with any questions you may have.
